History

Sold on May 12th, 1937 to Haller Aviation, and delivered via railway to new Orleans and then by Steamship to the African Flying Service (Pty) ltd. In Germiston, South Africa.

It was next owned by J.W. Jagger and Company who operated it in Rhodesia in 1938 and then moved it to the Grand Central Airport (African Flying Service) in Johannesburg where it underwent renewal of its certificate of Airworthiness in June of 1938.

In March 1940 it was owned and operated by the Pretoria Light Aircraft company.

The aircraft was impressed into the SAAF as number 1506 in 1940.

Serving initially at 2AS, Randfontein. All five of the Ryan’s taken over served only for a short while before becoming instructional airframes at 69AS, AFS Germiston. All were scrapped.It did not survive the war and the registration was cancelled July 30th, 1947. Further disposition unknown could still exist.
