History

Sold new December 12, 1939, delivered to the Ryan School on Lindbergh Field, San Diego, California.

Modified to PT-20B with a Menasco D-4 engine, date unknown, at the Ryan plant, San Diego.

Used for military primary flight training, San Diego.

About November 13,1945 it was purchased surplus from the U.S. Government as a PT-20A by Lt. T.R. Schnitz. There were a number of parts either missing or broken at this time so an order was placed with the Ryan company for replacements, (a fin, rudder, a set of wires for the Left wing, butt ribs for both wings and a front spar for the left wing) The parts were shipped but never collected from Railway Express agency at Corpus Christi and no further correspondence was received from the owner (Schnitz) It appears to have been involved in a fatal crash. It was noted that the current owner? Will restore the aircraft.
