History

Sold new and delivered on may 11th, 1937 to Clyde E. Brayton, to be used for sales promotion and student training.

Brayton sold it on November 4th, 1937 to Richard W. DaVania, who used it for pleasure. His brother recalled one time when Richard was caught in a snow storm over Illinois, and they had to practically dig him out of the cockpit when he returned to Paducah.

On September 30th, 1938 it was sold again to Leonard Condit for $3000.00. About 1942 he established the Condit Flying Service at the Old Municipal Airport in Wichita. The area is now the McConnell Air Force base complex.

Condit sold the airplane to Adrian Charles McInnis in January 1940 and on April 8th, 1940 it was involved in an accident. The Pilot, Lloyd A. Johnson, Minneapolis flight instructor, was at the controls when  they became jammed and he bailed out, without injury. The Ryan crashed on the Fort Snelling Reservation. It is assumed that the baggage door had become loose, fell forward, and jammed the front cockpit stick (a common occurrence) forward. The airplane was demolished when it fell on the bank of the Minnesota River.
